Canadian Law Enforcement Registries
National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR)
Established under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) in 2004. Managed by the RCMP with 700+ registration centres across Canada.
Ontario Sex Offender Registry (Christopher's Law)
Separate provincial registry established in 2001 under Christopher's Law. Operates in parallel with NSOR. Unlike federal registry, has no judicial discretion for removal. Anyone convicted of designated offence residing in Ontario must register for minimum 10 years.
CBSA-NSOR Integration
Under SOIRA, NSOR shares offender travel information with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Analysts compare CBSA travel data with offender-submitted travel information to verify compliance.
